Eliminating isolation and giving back.
GiveHear is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit hearing center providing hearing healthcare to low-income adults and under-served children in our community. Our desire is that no person is prevented from full participation in life due to hearing loss.
Our mission is to build the self-worth of individuals by restoring their hearing potential and providing them with opportunities to engage with their communities through service to others.
WE ARE NOT A FREE CLINIC.
We operate on a reduced fee, sliding scale basis to make hearing healthcare affordable. We rely on the support of our community through grants, donations, corporate sponsorship and volunteers to make our programs sustainable. In return, our unique Circle of Giving model gives our patients the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer hours.
For every hearing aid our patients receive through GiveHear, they return a designated amount of volunteer hours to their community. This is our way of saying “Thank you” to the funders and donors that make it possible for our patients to receive the “Gift of Hearing”.
Bringing together a united front of people on mission.
Our team and our donors come together under a single, unifying purpose: that no person is prevented from full participation in life due to hearing loss.
Here is our highly qualified team who works to make this happen.
Executive Director of GiveHear
Contact Anna: Anna@GiveHear.org
Anna Bogdon is a conscientious problem solver whose experience brings steadfast organization to any company or community project. She currently leads GiveHear from a passion of connecting people to a mission. She believes that each person has gifts and talents that make them invaluable to this community and she wants to help connect people to a place where they can serve others.
Anna is a Fort Wayne native and has over twenty years of non-profit experience. Her work in philanthropy and missions has taken her to over seven countries where she has participated in hearing missions, orphan care outreach, and theological training.
She is a founding board member of John Anastasia Ministries and has served on a variety of committees dedicated to reaching the under-resourced. She believes that the best non-profits are the ones who identify needs, connect and engage their community, and stay true to their philosophy of giving.
Anna loves to give and receive gifts. She is currently a partner on seven micro financing projects through Kiva.org and she can’t wait to see what she’s getting for her birthday.
She is a mother of one artistic, dramatic, and vibrant daughter.
Director of Audiology
Dr. Sheehan is a licensed audiologist, holding a master’s degree (M.S.) from Purdue University and a doctoral degree (Au.D.) from Salus University. She has been practicing in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area for the past 20 years, specializing in pediatric and adult diagnostics and hearing aid fittings, including Auditory Processing Disorders.
Dr. Sheehan started out as a volunteer audiologist with GiveHear, investing her talents in many of GiveHear’s patients. We are excited to have had her share her expertise as our primary staff audiologist since April of 2014.
Tina’s personality radiates an abundance of warmth, knowledge, and empathy. She uses these qualities to create the perfect mixture of information and compassion for her patients. Building authentic relationships with her patients is at the core of her mission to change their lives. Helping a patient restore their hearing potential is just icing on the cake!
Tina is married with two sons and a native to Fort Wayne. Her youngest son was diagnosed with hearing loss in 2011.
Billing and Finance Administrator
A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Stephanie started at GiveHear as an intern and then moved to a volunteer position after completing her internship. In October 2012, Stephanie graduated from MedTech College with an Associate of Applied Science degree for Medical Billing and Coding and was hired with GiveHear in November 2012.
Stephanie brings over 25 years of customer service experience to our company. In November 2015 she became our Billing and Finance Administrator due to her passion for people and wanting our patients, donors, vendors and anyone else who wanted to partner with Give Hear to know that their support to our organization whether big or small matter to us and without them GiveHearwouldn’t be the company we are today.
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, watching a good movie but most of all she enjoys spending time with her extremely active two boys at their many school activities or High School Sporting events. “Go Wayne Generals!”
Patient Care Coordinator
Cindy is a people person and a care giver by nature. As Patient Care Coordinator of the GiveHear clinic she is often the first voice and face new patients encounter. She is also the main contact for patients who need to schedule an appointment, have a question about our services, or want to pick up supplies.
On a daily basis, Cindy has the privilege of interacting with our patients, their families and caregivers, as well as the clinics, offices, and agencies that call to make new referrals. It is her pleasure to be present when parents are reassured and educated, patients receive their new hearing aids and smile with joy, and those with questions and concerns get the answers they are seeking.
Basically, every day is an adventure and a gift to Cindy! She is supported in what she does by a terrific husband who believes in the GiveHear mission and loves to volunteer with us regularly. In Cindy's words, "What more could I ask for? Well, maybe chocolate!"
Megan is a native of Oklahoma and a newcomer to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. She is overjoyed about joining the GiveHear family and making a positive difference in the community. When asked why she felt Give Hear was the right place for her, her answer was, “ I immediately felt I was where I was supposed to be. Everyone at GiveHear is welcoming and their enthusiasm for helping the patients is entirely genuine. I knew I had to be a part of that!”
She wants to use her position as Marketing Coordinator to make sure the patients of GiveHear are heard. She believes there are too many individuals with hearing issues who are being isolated and is determined to change that. She wants to shine a light on the stories of GiveHear patients and showcase their successes with the organization in creative ways.
When she’s not busy creating at her desk, she is either out exploring the Fort Wayne area in her purple pick-up “Ms. Violet”, or cozied up on the couch at home watching something scary.
Suha began her journey with GiveHear in 2012. She was a volunteer for five years before officially joining our organization as Outreach Coordinator in March 2017.
She is currently working toward her certification for a Hearing Instrument Technician License. In 2017, Suha completed 691 screenings in the Preschool Screening Program. She is passionate about helping others and bringing the GiveHear message to the community.
Outside out of work, Suha loves spending time with her two children Laddan and Mohamad. They enjoy traveling together, eating great food, and discovering new sites on their adventures.
Ellie received her bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from the University of Cincinnati in 2015 and is currently completing her final year of her doctorate of audiology (Au.D.) program at the University of Cincinnati.
She has experience with pediatric and adult diagnostics and hearing aid fittings, with a special interest in cochlear implants. When asked why she loves GiveHear, she replied “As an audiology extern here at GiveHear I’m able to serve alongside an amazing team, to provide hearing health care services to an underinsured population, allowing patients to re-engage and live a fuller life, it just doesn’t get any better than that!”.
Outside of work, Ellie enjoys volunteering at LifeHouse church and spending time outdoors with her husband and adorable puppy, Griffey.
